Helping Malaysians Read the Market, Not Fear It

Tickerly was built around a simple idea: market concepts should be accessible to anyone who wants to understand them, without being pressured into decisions along the way.

Our Story

From Confusion to Clarity

Tickerly started in Kuala Lumpur in 2019 after its founders noticed a recurring pattern: curious, thoughtful people were turning away from market education not because they lacked interest, but because what they encountered felt either too technical or too sales-driven.

A small team of educators and financial communicators came together with one shared goal — to produce structured, calm materials that explained how stock markets work in plain English, adapted for a Malaysian audience familiar with Bursa, EPF, and the broader regional context.

Today, Tickerly serves learners across Peninsular Malaysia through self-paced courses, facilitated workshops, and a comprehensive literacy program. The tone has never changed: informative, unhurried, and respectful of the learner's own judgment.

Founded in 2019

Established in the Bukit Bintang area of KL with a focus on accessible, pressure-free financial education for everyday Malaysians.

1,200+ Learners

Participants from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, and Johor have completed at least one Tickerly program since our first cohort.

Three Core Programs

A self-paced course, a small-group workshop, and a comprehensive program — each designed to stand alone or flow naturally into the next.

Mission

What We Stand For

We believe that understanding how markets work is a life skill, not a privilege. Tickerly exists to make that understanding available to anyone who wants it, in language that respects their intelligence without overwhelming them.

Neutrality

We don't advocate for specific decisions. Our programs present how markets are commonly described and understood, leaving interpretation to each learner.

Clarity

Every piece of jargon is explained the first time it appears. We maintain a live terms index across all our materials so no learner is left behind.

Respect

No sales pressure, no urgency tactics. Learners engage at their own pace and are consistently reminded to seek licensed professional input for personal decisions.

Our Expertise

Market Literacy Education in Malaysia

Stock market terminology can feel opaque at first encounter. Words like equity, index, yield, and sentiment carry specific meanings that aren't always obvious from their everyday usage. Tickerly's core belief is that building a reliable vocabulary of these terms is the most practical first step toward understanding financial media, annual reports, and market commentary — not as a path to any particular decision, but as a form of general knowledge.

Malaysia's financial landscape includes domestic resources like Bursa Malaysia, the Securities Commission (SC), and established instruments such as unit trusts and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF). Learners who understand the language surrounding these institutions are better placed to read relevant publications, follow economic news, and ask well-informed questions when they do seek regulated advice.

Tickerly's programs are structured around three layers of understanding: foundational vocabulary and basic market mechanics, conceptual frameworks commonly used to discuss market conditions, and a reading and research methodology that points toward official, well-regarded sources. None of these layers constitute personal direction — they are educational in nature, aimed at equipping learners with tools for continued independent study.

Our Kuala Lumpur base allows us to incorporate local context throughout — Malaysian regulatory references, regional economic indicators, and examples drawn from the local market where they help illustrate a concept more clearly than abstract examples would. This contextual grounding is something we hear consistently from participants as one of the most valued aspects of the programs.
